About me

I'm Vanessa, a translator from English and French to Spanish. I graduated in Translation and Interpreting at the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville. Currently, I am studying an Expert Diploma in Marketing Implementation & Transcreation at ISTRAD. Likewise, I am a professional member of the SELM (Spanish Modern Languages Society).

Also, apart from the above, in order to continue my training, I have attended courses in audiovisual translation, transcreation and teacher training for SFL (Spanish as a Foreign Language). In addition, I have also attended various conferences on translation because you always learn something new.

Regarding my professional experience, I have worked as a translator from English to Spanish and vice versa, and as a reviewer and editor for The Sewing Box Company. Furthermore, I have subtitled and adjusted from Spanish to English a short film, Antipodes, and I have translated various texts for NGO PerMondo on preserving the environment.

On the other hand, my experience living abroad (France, Sweden and Poland) has allowed me to be even more aware of linguistic and cultural differences and how to solve them in a satisfactory way.

I am passionate about travelling and meeting local people in order to open my mind and grow both personally and professionally. This allows me to transfer my non-formal knowledge to the formal one so that the texts I translate can cross cultural barriers and convey the same message as the original.
